Lexington Barbecue

Postby Camel Toe » Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:29 pm

I was passing through Lexington yesterday afternoon and stopped by. It was 4:45pm and the place was packed; hard to find a parking place and a line was starting to form, did I mention it was only 4:45? I was in a rush, but my stomach thought my throat had been cut, so I got a sammich, side of baked beans, tea & a pound to go. Beans were nothing special, but the sammich and sweet tea could not have been better. Service was fast & friendly and a cold sammich for lunch today w/ their hot sauce was equally as good as the day before...

Next time any of you go by Lexington BBQ, ask for Nathan. His family owns the place and he is member here! He also won the big fish award in the catfish event Dixie Hokie put on this summer.

I had to head to Charlotte yesterday for a little Bid'Ness. As luck (the plan) would have it, I was rolling through Lexington right around lunc time and wheeled in to Lexington BBQ for a Q Sandwich.

Fist off let me say this: DANG THAT WAS GOOD Q. I mean really, that was some really good tasting Q, and teh sandwich was perfect. Warm Q, Cold slaw, good bun. Lexington is definitly the BEST OF THE WEST.

I got to meet Nathan while I was there. Great guy and he gave a shout out to Boykins and Waccmaw. Come to find out, he's got his on personal grades of Q, so I'm looking foward to going back and sampling some of the higher end stuff.

However, I do think I have discovered why Lexington is the Best of the West and there is no doubt that it is the best of the west, heck it's so good you don't even need sauce. But IMO Lexington Q is Eastern Q in dequise. That's right, I said it, any Q that good has got to be Eastern NC Q and It's my belief if you take that "red dip" off the tables, what you got is eastern Q with just a drop of red so it can be called western. Yep, I am convinced, any Q that good has got to be Eastern NC Q and that's what they're serving at Lexington BBQ, only in dequise!!!!!! :P
