WC I must confess

Postby uncduckman » Thu Jan 14, 2010 8:49 pm

I ate at Lexington BBQ for the first time in many years (10+) and it was off the charts.

I will go as far as to say it is the best I have ever had.

I consider myself a BBQ taste testing expert. I love my Q!

For real. It's like treason. No good loven eastern carolina boy could even allow himself to think of the possbilility. Something must have fried that boy's tastebuds.

You guys don't know me my name is Joseph and I live in Lexington. I would agree that we have the best chopped BBQ, just wanted to let you know what you are missing in case you didnt already know. When you come to lexington and eat at Lex BBQ order yourself a lean brown sliced sandwitch and you will never forget the experience. For all yall down east guys yall have some of the best BBQ ribs.

Some words and BBQ shouldnt be used in the same sentence! You want a good plate of Q then hit Parkers or The Pit in Raleigh. Draw a circle 50 miles radius around Wilson and plant a flag in the middle. Thats the home of BBQ! Who puts ketchup in there slaw????? :vomit

Wildman is right, Wilson is the BBQ capitol of the world. I prefer Bills just because of the buffet but Parkers BBQ is just as good if not better. No thanks on the Lexington BBQ and red slaw.

I grew up w/the Parkers. In fact, their granddaughter was my best girlfriend all through high school. We used to leave school for lunch and go to the resturant, walk in the kitchen and fix our own plates. Did this for years. Having said that,
Parker's BBQ sucks! They chop up every dmn thing including skin, grizzle, bone, etc.....it ain't good. Obviously, if you think Parker's is tops, you've never been to B's or The Skylight Inn....now that's good bbq - Eastern Carolina Style.

Parker's does have the best fried chicken east of 95 though....hands down.

Best BBQ I have had in a while is Sid's in Beulaville. Good eastern style. No other restaurant can beat it.

UNC let me know when you come to town and I will hit the skylight up with you, may have to hit B's first though because they are usually out by 12noon and are not open on mondays.

I have no real affiliation and honestly like both styles alot. I will say that growing up we used to eat at Bridge's BBQ in Shelby and to this day I still love it. I can make a meal out of their hushpuppies and heated BBQ sauce. For you red slaw haters, they do have the red slaw so steer clear. :sos:

I grew up going to Bridge's BBQ lodge when I would visit my grandad in Lawndale. Great stuff.
