I have been having a hard time finding ducks the past few days. I found the roost of a few hundred coots, but I'm not to interested in that. Other than that it was only a handful of hooded mergansers. I'm betting the snow storm pushed most of them out. However, I am not sure what a good process for scouting is. I had good success in September with Teal and Geese and in October with Woodies. I would usually just go out early in the morning on the canoe and see where they would go feed from the roost and hunt there. I was to busy with school to study during November and haven't seen many birds since then. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if I just need to watch the weather more closely.
